About Raiding Bookshelves
Raiding Bookshelves is a pretty outlet for my love of all things bookish. Run from my little purple bedroom in Melbourne, Raiding Bookshelves is my way of sharing what I love about books with people who feel the same way.
It was started after a resolution on NYE 2010/2011 to read at least 200 books. Between January 1st and December 31st I managed to read 247 books (so close to 250!).
The plan for 2012 is to review four books a month and review a genre a month:

January - Debut Authors
February - Romance and Bodice Rippers
March - Dystopian
April - Young Adult and General Fiction
May - Fantasy
June - Jane Austen and Regency
July - Adventure
August - Action and Thriller
September - Science Fiction
October - Non-fiction and biographical
November - Fables, fairy tales and mytholoy
December - Picture books and Children's literature

The weekly plan is:
Sunday: Weekly Review
Monday: In My Mailbox
Tuesday: Top Ten Tuesday
Wednesday: Waiting on Wednesday
Thursday: Rest
Friday: From Page to Screen (fortnightly)
Saturday: Rest

Review Policy
A little premature but I'm eager to make an impression on this world of book reviews. I will take any requests and let you know if and when I will read the book. I make an effort to review everything I read, but often fall behind due to other commitments.
On reviews:
  • I will be honest. I review books to share my book obsession with fellow bibliophiles. This means I write them as though I'm sharing with a friend. If I offend someone, or am too vehement in a bad review, let me know and I will censor it.
  • There will be a wide variety. While I read mostly YA and fantasy, I do like to branch out. Expect to see some adult, thrillers, historic fiction and even some of the more steamy romances from RaidingBookshelves. Request anything and I'll let you know if it's possible.
  • I will steer clear of non-fiction for the time being. I won't have time for them outside my University workload.
